Events for the Week of March 4th, 2019
Tuesday, March 5th from 6-8PM — Fat Tuesday Community Pancake Dinner @ University Park UMC
We’re flipping up pancakes with lots of toppings, bacon, and a King Cake, of course!
Suggested donation of $5/per adult and $3/child will be shared 100% with the Reconciling Ministries Network.
Invite your friends and neighbors to enjoy fellowship and learn about the traditions of Shrove Tuesday as well as time to set intentions for your Lenten journey.
Wednesday, March 6 @ 4:45PM — Ecumenical Ash Wednesday Service @ Evans Chapel
Hosted by The Foundation Campus Ministry
Thursday, March 7th @ 7:02PM — PB&J Night!
Starting at 7:02pm in the Private Dining room in Nelson Hall, join us in making 150 peanut butter and jelly sack lunches that will feed hungry and homeless folks in Denver the next day. We put together lunches that include a sandwich, cookies, a banana, and a bottle of water. Join us for a fun – although slightly sticky – event. We do this EVERY Thursday night, so make this small service project part of your weekly routine.
Friday, March 8th @ 11:00AM — PB&J Delivery
Meet at the Nelson parking lot at 11:00am on Friday to deliver 150 peanut butter and jelly sack lunches. Liza will pick you up in the UPark van and we will first head down to El Centro Humanitario to drop off 20 lunches and chat a bit with the day laborers. Our second stop is Civic Center Park where the folks will be in a line waiting for us. We serve communion to those who would like to partake, and we hand out lunches and water. Each week we are joined by Hope United Methodist Church. We are back on campus by 12:45 at the latest, and we often grab lunch together.
